Flight Bird Sighting

While getting into my truck this morning, I heard that familiar twitter of Woodcock on the move at dawn. No fewer than a dozen few over the house in less than 5 minutes. That doesn’t happen on a regular basis. Then, on the way to work, I spotted two more flying over the highway. So - don’t forget to get an extra box of shells when you’re out buying your beer.

The offical data suggests a good year with us moving towards a peak in the 10 year cycle. We, by which I mean Rob, should start keeping our own Bird Camp stats to determine if there really is a correlation between BDT, flushes, kills, and how much money I lose at poker avery year.

The offical weather forcasts suggest we won't be over heating out there this year.

Some Interesting Early Numbers for grouse and woodcock. Also, be sure to check out the How to Sex and Age American Woodcock document to avoid unnecessary embarrassment.
