A Grand Adventure In The Fall Of 2005 ?

In response to the Dog Days of Autumn post, Scott wrote:

…October 9-10 will most definitely be "out" for me as I will once again be enjoying the far more fruited plains of North Dakota in pursuit of larger and more bountiful winged creatures: I speak specifically of the B-52 like pheasants, the occasional sharptail grouse, the abundant "dumb ducks" awaiting slaughter, and the infrequent, but much enjoyable covey of Hungarian Partridge that await. Add to that the fact that North Dakota only has about three trees in the whole state, and that almost all shots are wide open, and I'm sure you will understand why I must go west during this time. I think perhaps the following year we should all caravan to the local fairgrounds in Crosby where the camping is marginal at best, but the bird hunting (after the 24 hour drive to get there) is truly worth the trip. Therefore I vote for a later date here in the homeland, and I propose a grand adventure in the fall of 2005 perhaps for all…

Ever since the inaugural gathering, we have held camp in Michigan (da UP not withstanding). What say Ye to a transcontinental excursion?

It is possible that Mountain Bike Camp could be held in ND in 2005. The north end of the Maah Daah Hey Trail, 100 miles of Badlands singletrack, is about an hour south of the "marginal at best" camping at Crosby.

Alas, planning is such great difficulty, and what with the total chaos of my everyday life, I have fallen short on the Grand Adventure concept. However, I'm still going! (I think) During this years travels I shall seek real estate or some other type of accomodations in hopes that we can make something along these lines happen in the future....Scott
